Break the bias

#BreakTheBias

International Women's Day
8 March 2022

Marked annually on March 8, International Women’s Day is one of the most important days of the year to recognise women’s significant contributions and rally together to accelerate gender equity.

Can you imagine a gender equal world? A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. In 2022, we celebrate International Women’s Day globally by facing prejudice head on in our own efforts to #BreakTheBias.

At the Faculty of Medicine, we are incredibly proud of our passionate, resilient and inspiring women, who are actively working to forge change by breaking down discrimination barriers through their research impact, teaching excellence and forward-thinking initiatives.

Below, we highlight just some of the many women in the Faculty who inspire us. These women have an unwavering commitment to breaking the bias and their enthralling stories of resilience, determination and empowerment amplify this year’s IWD theme; #BreakTheBias.

You can also learn about some of the many initiatives that support women’s progress in their professional and personal lives, and find events to attend to help celebrate IWD this year.
