Cystic Fibrosis Australia (CFA), in conjunction with Technipro-PulmoMed is pleased to announce the 2019 Abbie Fennessy Fellowship. The aim of the Fellowship is to improve the knowledge and skills of Allied Health Professionals working in cystic fibrosis care to benefit those who have cystic fibrosis.  The award is provided to support education, training, academic purposes, and/or medical research, activities that improve the quality of medicine and the improvement of cystic fibrosis patient outcomes.  The Fellowship is open to Allied Health & Nursing professionals involved in the treatment or care of people with cystic fibrosis in Australia. The Fellowship is an annual grant, up to the value of $5,000, which can be awarded entirely to one applicant, or shared between several applicants and will be subject to approval of the applicant’s budget. Joint applications can be made, but all applicants need to be cystic fibrosis professionals from the nursing, dietetics, physiotherapy, social work, psychology and occupational therapy disciplines. Applications are sent to Cystic Fibrosis Australia whose review panel will select the winner.

Criteria for applying

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Australia and must have been working in CF care for at least two years.
  • The applicant must intend to continue working in CF care in Australia.
  • The applicant must have their supervisor sign off on the application, budget and CV, and provide a letter of support.
  • The applicant must agree to provide a report to CFA within three months of the conclusion of the project/initiative, signed off by their supervisor.
