The UQ Faculty of Medicine Early Career Research Committee (FoM-ECR) is a faculty-wide committee representing early career research, teaching and research and teaching-focused academics across the Faculty of Medicine.

The 14 August event is our first ECR forum and is designed to promote collaboration of ECRs across Faculty of Medicine schools and research centres and with clinicians.

The afternoon will take the format of two sessions of themed round table discussions of opportunities to bring cutting edge research to bear to address burning clinical problems. There will also be the opportunity to mingle and network with your peers and with potential new clinical collaborators.

You will:

  • Meet other ECRs and clinicians from across FoM
  • Discover unique FoM research, tools and expertise
  • Learn about current clinical challenges
  • Make new connections to foster collaborations with clinical and research colleagues

To be a part of this exciting event please register your interest by submitting the Participant Information and Abstract described below.

Places are limited to 60 participants. The event will be free with afternoon tea and post event nibbles included.

We are seeking ECRs to nominate to present their research at one of the themed round table discussions on the day. Presentations will include a short spiel about your research, followed by facilitated round table discussion. All abstracts will be included in an abstract booklet. We also ask that you include a photograph of yourself so that during break time it will be easy for other researchers and clinicians to identify ECRs they may want to connect with.
