Purpose

The role of the Student and Staff Networking (SaSN) committee is to promote networking, collegiality and community spirit among all members of the School through the hosting of special events, activities and fund raising.

Terms of Reference

  1. Nurture a welcoming and collegial environment for all students and staff.
  2. Provide an avenue for HDR student leadership and staff-student collaboration on shared goals and activities.
  3. Facilitate regular social events open to all members of the School to develop relationships and build community spirit.
  4. Plan and host HDR events such as informal seminars, mixers and other events, to strengthen the cohort experience and build collegiality among students.
  5. Liaise with the Head of School, other School committees and the School community at large to identify current and future needs and priorities.
  6. Organise fund raising to support networking and social activities, in accordance with these terms and the University’s PPL.
  7. Plan and host the annual SBMS Research, Teaching and Learning Awards Night including:
  • referring to the Research, and Teaching and Learning committees to nominate award recipients,
  • budgeting and procurement in liaison with the School’s management team,
  • all other logistics e.g. ticket sales, advertising, venue hire, decorations etc.
