We are currently recruiting colleagues to help with the detailed design of the new MD.  If you would like to nominate to get involved please see the attached EOI or email us here so we can follow up with you directly.

Over 1,000 colleagues, students and community members have contributed to workshops and discussions on the design of the new MD since work commenced on the project in mid-2019.  We have also received over 100 written submissions and have reached out to almost 6,000 stakeholders across our broader medical program community.

As the project moves into Stage 2: UQ Submission and Detailed Design, 8 integrated working groups will be established to progress with the detailed design.  The working groups will be focused around the themes of the new curriculum namely:

  1. Safe and Effective Clinician
  2. Critical Thinker, Scientist and Scholar - Research
  3. Critical Thinker, Scientist and Scholar - Clinical / Biomedical Sciences
  4. Advocate for Health Improvement
  5. Dynamic Learner and Educator
  6. Kind and Compassionate Professional
  7. Partner and Team Player
  8. Assessment (noting this is not a theme of the new program but integral to bringing the design to life)

The working groups will be led by a Theme and will include up to 8 academic and professional colleagues.  Working group members will be  required to attend regular working sessions with their workstream and work on elements of the design between meetings.

The focus of each of the working groups is to develop appropriately staged learning outcomes and learning activities for their key theme over the four years of the UQMD Program and to work collaboratively with the other Themes to promote meaningful integration, a cohesive four year curriculum and a whole of program approach to assessment.

We are currently recruiting to the working groups.  If you would like to nominate to join a group or would like more information on what is involved, please see the attached EOI or email us here so we can follow up with you directly.
