Induction seminar

The School of Biomedical Sciences is committed to ensuring that the highest level of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) is achieved in all areas and activities within the School - for all staff, students and visitors.

Staff, students and visitors are reminded of their obligations to Occupational Health and Safety and must, at all times, comply with OH&S rules and regulations. More information can be found by visiting The University of Queensland's Occupational Health and Safety website by clicking here.

On your first day with the School please contact the School HR Officer, to complete the necessary, "new starter," paperwork. HR will also give you some basic OHS instructions. "Day 1 Induction."

Inductions are conducted by OH&S staff from the School of Biomedical Sciences throughout the year. Details are as follows:

Venue Room 305 or Room 307, Skerman Building, unless additional change of room indicated

Time 10am - 12pm (approximate finish time)

Local induction

Your Supervisor will provide you with "local" information, ie laboratory risk assessment, Personal Protective Clothing requirements, and emergency equipment. "Local" induction checklist will need to be completed by your supervisor and yourself.
