Researcher biography

Fabiola commenced a 0.5FTE role in late July. The role focusses on evaluation and improvement of processes for admission to the MD program, provides advice and support for offer holders, as well as successful students during their transition from undergraduate studies to the MD program. Fabiola is the academic lead for Faculty of Medicine's outreach activity as well as all promotional material relating to admission to MD Traning Program at Faculty of Medicine. Prior to joining UQ, Fabiola was a Senior Clinical Lecturer in HIV Medicine at the Centre for Immunology and Infection (CII), University of York, and Consultant in Sexual Health at York Teaching Hospital. Fabiola obtained her undergraduate degree in Medicine at the University of Vienna in 1995 and entered her training in Genitourinary and HIV Medicine after passing the membership exams of the Royal College of Physicians, London. She completed her specialist clinical training in 2009. Fabiola obtained her MD(Res) in HTLV Medicine at Imperial College London in 2009 and the Postgraduate Certificate of Medical Education (PGCME) in 2014. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
