There is an urgent need to transform our current food system to better deliver healthy diets, equity, environmental sustainability, and economic prosperity for all. These projects will adopt systems science perspectives, working with experienced national and inter-national cross-disciplinary teams to help identify and tackle key leverage points in the current food and nutrition system in Australia to help improve system outcomes. Options exist under the domains of: governance and regulation; food production, distribution, retailing and advertising; knowledge creation and synthesis; and dietary choice within food environments. From a public health perspective, the aim is to improve rates of diet-related disease, including obesity and NCDs, in Australia.
