Strong evidence exists of an association between alcohol consumption and violence. In 2016 the Queensland Government released the ‘Tackling Alcohol-Fuelled Violence' Policy, with the purpose of reducing alcohol-related violence in key entertainment precincts across Queensland, including Fortitude Valley. This project will draw any of the many administrative datasets that we hold from our evaluation of the TAFV Policy, consisting of millions of records, to explore hidden gems in the data. This research will provide policy makers and other key stakeholders with valuable information about ways of reducing alcohol-fuelled violence in Queensland.
