The Postgraduate Symposium in Biomedical Science hosted by SBMS is a single-day event (24th November, 2020) designed to share the research of HDR students within the UQ Faculty of Medicine. This symposium is open to students from the Faculty of Medicine, as well as other UQ schools and institutes, including but not limited to Queensland Brain Institute (QBI), Institute for Molecular Biosciences (IMB), Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) and School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences (SCMB), It is the aim of this symposium to foster research networks between all UQ’s academics and HDR students in biomedical sciences.

HDR students are invited to submit an abstract for either an oral or poster presentation. Oral presentations will be divided into sessions, with one guest speaker and six student speakers per session (each talk being 10-15 minutes in length). The poster presentation session will occur towards the end of the symposium, and will be accompanied by canapés, drinks and networking. Prizes will also be awarded to the best student speakers and best posters.

Registrations will be compulsory due to COVID-19 restrictions. Further information will be provided closer to the event. An abstract submission form is provided below, and we welcome submissions from all UQ-affiliated students. Please email completed form to declan.gorman@uq.net.au.
