Instructions for hanging artworks
Please bring your artworks ready to hang easily, please follow these instructions carefully:
- All artworks need to have a solid frame in order to be hung well at this exhibition. This can include a stretched canvas, a frame, or backing board, etc. If Fabric, please attach best option for hanging. No loose paper/cardboard, etc.
- The easiest way to hang your artwork will be to stretch wire across the back so it can hang directly onto hooks provided at the exhibition. Please see below for a few YouTube Shorts clips that generally demonstrate this technique.
- You can also adapt the below technique to apply to ready bought frames or backing boards.
- Please note, it has been our experience that cheaper frames that come with hooks (e.g. from Kmart) are not strong enough to be hung in this context and the built-in hooks will break and therefore require the wire to be attached to the back.
- The best hooks for hanging are D Rings and can be bought at art supply stores or Bunnings. They come with tiny screws so they can be attached to the frame or board.
- D Ring hooks attached to wire must be attached prior to bringing your artwork to exhibit.
