Professor Karen Moritz is the Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Queensland and leads the developmental programming in disease research team in the Child Health Research Centre and the School of Biomedical Sciences.

Professor Moritz completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne. Following a post-doctoral fellowship at Monash University she moved to the University of Queensland in 2006 where she established an independent research program. In 2016 she became the Director of The University of Queensland’s Child Health Research Centre. In January 2021 Professor Moritz commenced in the role of Associate Dean (Research) for the Faculty of Medicine.

Professor Moritz has published more than 200 manuscripts and held multiple NHMRC fellowships and project grants.  Professor Moritz maintains a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring of students and early career researchers.
