Industrialisation across the world has led to dramatic social, economic, and environmental changes. In line with these, population health and disease profile has also shifted remarkably. For example, mental health has increased remarkably, especially among adolescents and young adults, at which life stage a full-range development including physiological, psychosocial, sexual, educational, and emotional progress happens. These developments have profound impacts on their short-term and long-term health and well-being. This project aims to map out the environment factors such as climate, green space in selected countries and regions in the world, to investigate its associations with mental health risks among school-aged adolescents in addition to individual behaviours. The obtained results will provide evidence-based directions for wholistic approach in tackling the mental health risks epidemic in this age group. We are inviting passionate PhD candidates to join the talented research team with supportive environment at the School of Public health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland.
