It's been a busy month for our superstar Faculty of Medicine researchers, who have received a raft of fellowships, grants and accolades. Congratulations!

SBMS Dr Jana Vukovic was awarded a prestigious Viertel Senior Medical Research Fellowship for her work in combatting the effects of brain damage. Read more.

Faculty of Medicine Dr Leanne Coombe had her study, Educating for Indigenous public health competence – how do we stack up in Australia? featured in Wiley’s NAIDOC Week content collection. Read more.

UQDI Professor Kiarash Khosrotehrani, was awarded an Accelerating Collaborative Cancer Research (ACCR) grant from Cancer Council Queensland for his approach to predicting survival in patients diagnosed with locally invasive cutaneous melanoma. Read more.

Primary Care Clinical Unit Senior Lecturer Dr Margaret Kay, was awarded the 2020 RACGP Queensland Faculty Award, acknowledging her tireless work in the field of doctors’ health. Read more.

Dr Bryan Mukandi from the School of Clinical Medicine was awarded a Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards (DECRA) grant for his project, “Seeing the Black Child”. Read more.
