UQ alumnus, Cardiologist Dr Rolf Gomes is the founder of the mobile medical service, Heart of Australia.
Building on his engineering background, Dr Gomes has revolutionised the way specialist doctors provide medical services to regional, rural and remote communities across Australia.
Under his leadership, the Heart of Australia program has treated more than 14,000 patients and saved more than 500 lives.
