UQCCR Senior Research Fellow Dr Nadeeka Dissenyaka is at the forefront of research into how virtual reality can be used in aged care facilities and hospitals to help patients with degenerative brain diseases. 

Virtual reality is becoming more accessible to everyday Australians with the technology now widely used for gaming and entertainment, but it's also emerged as a valuable tool for some of societies most vulnerable with VR trials being held in Queensland aged care homes to help residents with degenerative brain diseases.  This story aired on ABC News Queensland on 08/08/18.
