MD Design major milestone – Year 1 Syllabus finalised

The MD Design project has achieved a major milestone this month with the finalisation of the syllabus of key learning experiences for Year 1. This has been an innovative piece of work bringing together our many stakeholders to sequence the new year-long 16-unit course MEDI7100 “Foundations of Medicine.”

A very big thank you is due to all the staff and students who have contributed to this major piece of work. Several small working groups are already working on the detail of the learning experiences: team-based learning, symposia, clinical and professional small group learning, and procedural skills workshops. They will work collaboratively with the groups focussing on assessment, research, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, rural and regional medicine, and the six vertical themes to provide a learner centred course, which will enable students to achieve the Year 1 learning outcomes and be optimally prepared for Year 2.
