Do you think your UQ community is Equitable, Diverse and Inclusive?

Did this question get you thinking? Join the conversation at the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Unconference!  The Unconference is a half day, interactive event that is designed so that participants and speakers can voice their experiences of EDI on a level playing field.

We are creating a space for you and your peers to discover how others are making UQ a safe and inclusive space to learn and work. We also want to hear how you envision a more equitable UQ by providing everyone opportunities to be involved more throughout the event. There will be short 10-15 minute presentations followed by opportunities to discuss the content.

The when and where

Date: Wednesday 25 August, 2021

Time: A morning and afternoon session is available

  • Morning 9.00 - 11.00am
  • Afternoon 12.30 - 2.30pm

Venue:  The event is run on Zoom. Refreshments at the Herston Hangouts location in between the two sessions

EDI affects everyone, staff, students, academics, researchers and community – which is why we are inviting everyone to get involved to discuss equity, diversity and inclusion.

We want to find all the ways that EDI has shown up at UQ through: student experiences, published or unpublished research, group activities or teaching modules, and workplace practices. We also want to hear how we can do better as a community to ensure EDI is built into the fabric of the UQ environment.
