Office of the Institute Director
The Institute Manager and Executive Assistant support the Office of the Institute Director in Frazer Institute. The Institute Manager is primarily responsible for providing strategic and operational management for the Institute. This includes responsibilities for long-term planning, strategic budget management, coordination of professional support services, and management of core research facilities. The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the Institute Director, and manages all enquiries to the Director.
The Institute Manager can assist with your operational enquires and direct your requests to the relevant professional service area when you are unclear of who to contact.
Advancement
The Advancement team works with alumni, community members and corporate and foundation donors to raise funds in support of Faculty priorities.

Finance
The Management Accountant is responsible for the provision of professional project accounting advice and service to senior project leaders to ensure effective and compliant cost management of project activity. This includes financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for operational and/or grant funded projects.
The Financial Services Coordinator is responsible for the management and delivery of all finance transaction services undertaken to meet the operational and service delivery needs of the Faculty. This includes transactions related to accounts payable, invoicing, creditor and debtor management, registration of assets, and processing of journal entries.

HDR support
The HDR Liaison Officers (HLOs) provide advice and assistance to HDR students and supervisors about HDR opportunities, applications, scholarships, enrolment, candidature management, milestones and thesis submission.

Human resources
The Faculty of Medicine HR Team is responsible for enabling the achievement of the Faculty’s strategic objectives and supporting the broader University’s ambitions through attracting, developing and retaining talented, engaged and high performing staff. The Faculty HR Team provides a full range of end to end HR services including (but not limited to) recruitment, workplace relations, change management, organisational development and coaching for leaders.
Infrastructure
The infrastructure team coordinate and provide oversight on a broad range of facilities management issues to ensure the effective operation, utilisation and preservation of buildings and assets across the entire Faculty of Medicine. The infrastructure team liaises with, and provides facilities management advice to all Faculty staff and students. The team also coordinates medium and long term space management and planning activities to support the Faculty’s teaching and research strategic objectives. Working with the University’s Property and Facilities Division (P&F) and the various hospital and health service providers they oversee maintenance works and construction projects on behalf of the Faculty.

From media and communications and social media to video production, brand queries and website development, we are the team to contact. While we have a team of specialists based at Herston, we are structured in a way that allows you to build a relationship directly with two of our Managers. OHS
The Faculty of Medicine OHS team comprises five members with a broad spectrum of technical knowledge and experience with systems for the safe management of:
- biologicals and biosecurity
- chemicals, including prohibited and restricted carcinogens, chemicals of security concern
- radiation
- ergonomics
- clinical teaching and practice
- laboratory design and management
- plant and equipment
- drugs and poisons
- animal and human research ethics
- occupational hygiene, including hearing and allergen surveillance
- field work and event planning
- emergency procedures
- risk assessments and incident investigations
The Manager of Occupational Health and Safety coordinates the Faculty OHS team and develops and implements OHS policy, collaborating with the UQ HSW Division to develop greater consistency and transparency of OHS management practices across the Faculty and the University.

Research support
The Research Development Officer (RDO) and Research Development Manager (RDM) work closely together to provide advice on research funding schemes and opportunities, coordinate funding application processes, and link researchers to other sections in relation to research governance, compliance obligations and the conduct and reporting of your research projects. RDMs provide additional strategic support and training, in the preparation of high quality written applications and identifying novel opportunities, as prioritised by the centre, focussing on large scale, complex, high value collaboration and competitive opportunities.

Research partnerships
Our Research Partnerships Managers (RPM) facilitate the interaction between UQ researchers and their external partners, ranging from industry to government departments. They identify suitable partners and assist with the management of research contracts and agreements, liaising with all of the relevant areas of UQ on your behalf. They are also able to advise on industry facing funding schemes that may be utilised to leverage funding.
