Professor Nick Shaw is the Associate Dean (Academic) of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Queensland. Nick was previously the Head of the School of Pharmacy at UQ from 2004–2014. In his current role Nick is responsible for: the strategic oversight of all matters relating to teaching and learning; academic administration; and the co-ordination of student administration in the Faculty of Medicine.

Nick completed his BSc (Hons) in 1980 and his PhD, focussing on drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics in 1985, both degrees being awarded by the University of Manchester. Nick was conferred FRSC in 1994 and FRPharmS in 2010.

Nick is the current chair of the Accreditation Committee of the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) and was previously vice-president and a councillor/director of the APC.
