Vaccine Effectiveness for COVID-19 vaccines against infection, hospitalization and death in Queensland

In this project the student will perform a series of vaccine effectiveness studies using Queensland Health data. The student will perform a series of data-linkage exercises to link COVID-19 notifications with their subsequent hospitalizations, ICU admissions and mortality. The student will be working both within Queensland University, School of Public Health and within the Sunshine Coast Public Health Unit. There will be scope to participate and learn the practice of public health and outbreak management during this PhD. Proposed Chapters include test-negative case control study – VE against infection, cohort study – VE against hospitalization, ICU and mortality and estimating wanning immunity.
