In just over a decade since its commercial release, a UQ vaccine breakthrough has significantly lowered the risk of HPV-related cancers for thousands of women around the world, with 187 million doses distributed in 130 countries to date.

As the world celebrates a decade since the launch of two vaccines for the human papillomavirus (HPV), the widow of one of the two UQ researchers responsible says her late husband would have been humbled to have played a role in such a breakthrough.
