All Frazer Institute users at TRI require the fllowing accounts:

Frazer Institute Account

Your account, typically in the format jblow (first initial followed by family name), provides access to Frazer Institute computers and Frazer Institute-managed resources including the R:\, S:\ and U:\ drives and DI-RDR.

UQ Account

Your UQ account, typically in the format uqjblow ('uq' followed by up to six characters), provides access to email, the internet, the Frazer Institute staff intranet, the EduRoam wireless network, ESS and other centrally managed UQ services.

Some services require the username in the format of either username@uq.edu.au or UQ\username.

Your UQ account is linked to your employment status with data provided from Aurion, HR’s main management system. For non-staff members these accounts are manually created by UQConnect on receipt of an application form sent by Frazer Institute Human Resources during the induction process. Frazer Institute IT staff are unable to create UQ accounts but are able to reset UQ account passwords.

TRI Account

Your TRI account, typically in the format tjblow, provides access to centrally managed TRI resources including printing. These accounts are created on commencement at TRI and are managed by Frazer Institute IT staff.

Passwords

The Frazer Institute, UQ and TRI accounts are not linked and changing the password on one will not update the password on the other.

To change your FI password login to a FI workstation press Control-Alt-Delete and select Change Password

To change your TRI password login to a FI workstation and use the 'TRI_Password_Change' shortcut, available in the 'DI IT Support' folder on your Desktop.

Use the 'TRI Credential Manager' application in the same folder to store your TRI username and password on the workstation.

To change your UQ password visit https://www.uq.edu.au/password/

Selecting a password:

Generally, passwords must be a minimum of eight characters in length and contain characters from at least three of the following four categories:

  • Uppercase characters
  • Lowercase characters
  • Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
  • Non-alphanumeric characters: ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/

Using a passphrase, for example ‘Welcome2uALL@TRI’, is typically more secure than a password. Think of a phrase that is meaningful and memorable only for you.
