Award categories
The Faculty of Medicine excellence awards recognise and celebrate individuals and teams in the areas of:
- Collaboration: implemented collaborative measures that has resulted in significant tangible improvement to the change and success of the Faculty.
- Innovation: implemented innovative, effective initiatives or workplace practices, that has resulted in significant tangible improvements, change and success within the Faculty.
- Service: outstanding and significant contribution to delivering excellence in service to students, staff or the wider community.
- Mental and physical health, safety and wellness: implemented innovative and exciting ideas and practices which contribute to the mental and physical health, safety and wellness of our staff and students.
- Leadership: exemplary leadership supporting a positive, performance-based culture and contributing to the achievements of the Faculty.
- Community and reconciliation: outstanding effort in demonstrating a significant contribution to the spirit of reconciliation that gives back to our students, research, programs and wider community.
- Rising star: outstanding commitment to research and future potential as a researcher.
- Diversity and inclusion: outstanding effort in demonstrating a significant promotion of equity, diversity and inclusion within the Faculty or wider UQ community.
Nominations
As a staff member, you can nominate individuals or a team for a Faculty of Medicine Excellence Award.
Award selection is based primarily on written statements addressing the selection criteria. You must clearly demonstrate how the person or team has demonstrated:
- significant and outstanding achievement
- a meaningful and lasting impact at UQ.
Eligibility
All Faculty of Medicine employees are eligible to be nominated. This includes professional and academic staff (continuing, fixed-term and casual) employed. Contractors are unfortunately not eligible.
Depending on the quality of the nominations, up to 2 award winners may be selected for each award category. Subject to the quality of the nominations for a category, an award may not be made.
Nominations process
You may choose to tell the person that you are nominating them before submitting your nomination. However, all nominees will be advised of their nominations via email once all submissions are received. When nominating a team, please advise of the team leader as the contact person.
When you are completing the nomination and general selection criteria, you must incorporate the award-specific criteria applicable for each category. Only one nominator is required.
Please keep all nominations concise and any additional support materials to a maximum of 2 pages.
