COVID-19 restrictions at non-UQ HDR student locations

Many of the Faculty of Medicine’s research and HDR study locations are not controlled by UQ, for example QLD Health, Mater and Ramsay hospitals and health services, TRI, QIMRB and other health facilities. UQ staff and HDR students need to follow the directions that the operators of those facilities put in place to keep their communities safe from the risks of COVID-19, including access to their sites, who they consider staff or visitors, requirements for vaccination and evidence of vaccination status. This is not necessarily the same at every site, and can change with little notice.

Queensland Health has now issued mandatory COVID-19 vaccination directives, which set vaccination requirements for our staff and students entering or working in any hospital/healthcare location.

HDR students should go to:

• your adviser, who will know or can seek local advice about the latest directives from your Faculty of Medicine school, centre or clinical unit
• UQ community COVID-19 advice for all UQ COVID-19 information, including UQ’s business continuity level and vaccination advice
• UQ Graduate School for advice on Covid-19 impact on HDR student candidature and support
• QLD Government directions on access to hospitals in restricted or impacted areas
• QLD Government latest COVID-19 update and restrictions

UQ and the Faculty of Medicine encourage all staff and students to get vaccinated, and students can access the UQ vaccination hub located at the St Lucia campus as well as public vaccination services.
